The Hiking Bug

Paul and Natasha Godbold, two people who've caught The Hiking Bug

The Hiking Bug was created by Paul and Natasha Godbold, the people behind Luxurious Magazine®. Walking and hiking is a huge part of their lives, and they want to encourage more people to experience it and discover its wide-ranging benefits.

Paul and Natasha have a shared passion for hiking and biodiversity. They have, over recent years, been working with local government on finding ways to maintain, improve and protect green spaces, and wanted to do more.

Using their experience as members of the international press, Paul and Natasha are seeking to inspire as many people as they can to go outdoors and learn about nature, which will, in turn, help to improve mental and physical health.

Hiking is one of the rare things in life that is freely available to all. Unlike many other things involving physical activity, hiking doesn’t come with a membership charge, monthly fees, competition and expensive equipment purchases. All anyone needs to start is comfortable footwear, clothing and a door to go through to begin their walk into a better and more fulfilling life.

The benefits that come with catching The Hiking Bug are nigh endless. First and probably the most obvious is the improvement of one’s self. In addition to this, it is an opportunity for people to fill their lungs with fresh air, clear their minds and disconnect from what can frequently be a stressful world.

Via their social media channels and thehikingbug.com website, the two and their team of editorial contributors and ambassadors will create content they feel will help and encourage people to go hiking.

We live in a time when the planet’s health is at the forefront of people’s minds, and governments worldwide are issuing instructions and directives on what is needed to help the planet, sometimes without a clear explanation. By encouraging people to experience the natural world through hiking, Paul and Natasha hope that many more will understand what they are being asked to protect and, by doing so, will be prepared to do their part.
